What we collect
LINKACT does not use accounts, passwords, or email addresses. When you play:
- In your browser (localStorage): Your chosen handle, a randomly generated player tag, and your active run token. This data never leaves your device.
- On our server: When you complete a Daily Link run, we store your handle, tag, score, route path, jump count, and completion time. This is used solely for the public leaderboard.
What we DON'T collect
- No email addresses, passwords, or real names
- No persistent IP address logs (temporary rate-limiting hashes expire within minutes)
- No tracking cookies, analytics, or third-party scripts
- No advertising or user profiling
How long we keep data
Daily leaderboard scores and active run files are automatically deleted during the daily reset. Rate-limiting records expire within 2 minutes. Your browser's localStorage data stays until you clear it or the daily reset triggers a wipe.
Third-party services
Wikipedia article content is requested from Wikimedia Foundation servers. Their privacy policy applies to those requests. LINKACT caches articles for up to 7 days to reduce load on Wikimedia servers.
Your rights
You can clear your browser's localStorage at any time. Leaderboard entries are anonymous (handle + random tag) and automatically deleted daily. To request manual removal, contact us with your player tag.
